Join AbunDance Academy for a night of Dance, set to all of the Fabulous music from the 1970’s classic movie, The Wiz. See the songs come alive with dances performed by all of the AbunDance Academy family including AbunDance’s Artistic Director, Karisma Jay (STOMP), select Teaching Artists and all 100 students. Additionally, audience members will be in for a special treat, as select members of Brooklyn’s Glenwood Senior Center will join the cast too. AbunDance Academy of the Arts has had rapid success since its opening only 1 year ago, garnering the support of various influential people including Kevin Parker (NY State Senator), Eric Adams (Brooklyn Borough President), Jumaane Williams (New York City Councilman), Laurie Cumbo (New York City Councilwoman), Mathieu Eugene (New York City Councilman), Tiffany Stephens (TV Personality/ Former Miss New York State), Khalilah Webster (Cocoa Fab) and Derrick Webster (CEO of Vanguarde Consulting Group) and Jack Jeffers (Broadway Musical Conductor). Invited guests include Rev. Al Sharpton (Civil Rights Activist, Founder/ President of National Action Network), Letitia James (2014 NYC Public Advocate), June Ambrose (Celebrity Stylist), and News 12 of Brooklyn. With support in part by Brooklyn Arts Council, Department of Cultural Affairs’ SPARC program, NYC Department of Aging, and East Flatbush Village, Inc, this is definitely a Must See event!
